Day 24!!

What's that song by Dire Straits...."I want my MTV"...well right now "I want my CBC"!!! There have been some negotiation talks but nothing yet. Even if a contract was ratified, the lockout would still go on for another month :(.

Went by the CBC buildings today to lend my support in the form of a wave. Hopefully I won't have to do the wave for much longer.

I'm listening to CBC Halifax on CKDU podcast!!

YEAH!!! That's all I can say :).

CBC Halifax on CKDU!

Can't wait to tune into CKDU at 2:30 this afternoon. Hopefully this will be the only show.....but I somehow think it will be on again next week! :(

Day 16....

Yesterday I drove by the CBC Radio Building and beeped the horn loudly and waved like a mad woman from the car :). It felt GREAT!

I was thinking about the whole lockout and if there are any benefits of it. Here is my small list:

1) Given that the morning shows are so bad, I have more incentive to get up and get on with my morning workout and my day. No more excuses to lay in bed and listen to Stan Carew on Saturday morning or Don and Liz during the week. Darn :(

2) Since CBC Radio 2 is all soft music all the time, it is great when I put my 2 year old to sleep and just have the radio on in her room. What a lullabye!

3) It'd an easy way to get up close and personal with your favorite CBC host.

4) You realize how much the CBC brings this country together when talking to friends, looking at the websites and knowing how it affects you.

Day 11

Just talking to my friend who is also a CBC fan. We both lamented on the terrible state of the radio programming. It's amazing how this lockout has brought people together. I am listening to the various podcasts being produced...at least we can get something resembling CBC. I am also irked that I can not access any info on programs on the regular CBC site. Argh!

Day 10

I'm proud to share with you the email of support my dad wrote for the CBC. It was published on www.cbcontheline.ca WTG Dad! :)

A letter of support from the Halifax business community

I walk by the CBC picket line daily on my way to the Halifax YMCA for my morning workout.
Today, I stopped to talk to John Hancock (Information Morning) and Margaret Isaacs (Weekender, Symphony Nova Scotia) about what I could do to help. John got a hold of Costas Halavrezos, and he gave me a few e-mail addresses and directed me to CBC On the Line.
I made a point of e-mailing each of the board members (Helene Fortin's address did not go through) and local MPs Geoff Regan and Alexa McDonough. I also wrote a letter to the editor of the Halifax Mail Star.

As a financial adviser, I really depend on CBC to help my business. This is the e-mail I sent them FYI.

Good luck in your fight.

CBC Lockout Day 9

AGH! I am so tired of the CBC lockout! I miss Information Morning! I miss Maritime Morning! I miss the news! I miss Maritime Noon! I miss all the hosts, local or not! I miss everything CBC!! I feel so bad for those walking the picket lines everytime I go by the CBC building. Ugh! Let's bring this thing to a close. If you want to get more info on the lockout then visit http://cbcontheline.ca/ or http://www.cbcunplugged.com/ Email your MP! Let's get these people back to work!!! The replacement CBC bites! The music sucks and it is enough to make you go to sleep..and I won't even get into the morning show hosts!! Geez!! Who the heck needs a snooze button!!?? OK..off my soapbox :)
